Nights of Remembrance: Women’s Empowerment Councils Between March 18 through the 23rd, 2008, women are hosting the first of a series of gatherings to screen the DVD premiere of Women’s Power, the first video created by Max Dashú. This ground-breaking movie gives a condensed view of female leadership, creativity, wisdom, and courage, around the world and over thousands of years. It features female governors, elders, clan mothers, culture-makers, healers, priestesses, poets, musicians, doctors, witches, athletes, rebels, and liberators. For more information on the DVD, click here . The Councils: Become a Convenor: Convenors have the option (not required) to pre-order extra copies for women to buy at the event. (Prepaid orders only: no consignments.) Unsold copies can be returned for refund (seal unbroken). Whether the event is for women or open to everyone is up to the convenors. The full transcript of Women's Power is online and can be printed out, especially for accessibility to deaf women, but also as reference for names, dates, and other information. A study guide is online with questions for discussion. This aid is not intended as a definitive list. We are asking Convenors to print out pdfs of promo slips for the DVD and give them out to attendees. And we call for more gatherings to be convened during this crucial year.
